Storage
Red Meat (Beef, Lamb, Pork, Venison, Kangaroo, etc.)
- Shelf Life: 3-5 days
- Notes: Store in airtight containers or vacuum-sealed packaging to maximise freshness.
Poultry (Chicken, Turkey, Duck, etc.)
- Shelf Life: 1-2 days
- Notes: Poultry spoils faster due to its higher moisture content. Ensure it’s kept in a sealed container to prevent contamination and minimise exposure to air.
Fish (Salmon, Tuna, etc.)
- Shelf Life: 1-2 days
- Notes: Fish is highly perishable. Store it on ice or in the coldest part of your fridge to maintain freshness. If it smells strongly “fishy” or feels slimy, it’s likely spoiled.
General Storage Tips
- Packaging: Keep proteins in their original packaging if sealed, or re-wrap tightly with cling film or freezer paper.
- Fridge Placement: Store raw proteins on the lowest shelf to prevent cross-contamination.
- Freezing: Freeze proteins if you can’t use them within the recommended time frames. Label with the date before freezing.
- Check Freshness: Discard proteins that develop an off smell, slimy texture, or discoloration.
Local Delivery & In Store Pickup
We offer Local Delivery every Wednesday and Friday for orders within 0km - 50km from DH HQ. These orders will be picked up from DH HQ from 2:00PM Thursdays & Fridays.
